Did I get your attention?? :) Who wouldn't LOVE some yummy calorie-free valentine's candy or food to set the mood for a romantic evening with your sweetheart?!? BUT, I'm not talking about candy...what I'm
talking about is romantic-smelling essential oils and blends.
There are different ways to take advantage of the natural scent of essential oils such as ylang-ylang, cinnamon, peppermint, tangerine, etc...REMEMBER, these are 100% Pure Essential Oils that I'm talking about...not the man-made perfume-like stuff that's out there.
Make your own liquid perfume. The easiest way to do this is put a drop or two on the insides of your wrist and at other pulse points. You can also blend together a couple of your favorites and put into a roller bottle and apply by rolling onto the same pulse points. Same goes for a glass mister.
Make your own solid perfume. A little coconut oil (solid at room temp) and some beeswax is all you need. Melt both in a double boiler, remove from heat, add in your essential oil or blend, and pour into a small tin (or even a locket). Let it sit for a while to become solid. To use, get a small amount out with your finger and apply where/as needed.
Diffuse. Diffusing is a great way to get your favorite oil or blend scent into the air and freshen a room at the same time. There are all sorts of diffusers out there at all sorts of price ranges. The best ones to use with essential oils are those that don't use heat, or that don't use much heat.
I've used a Scentsy plug in warmer with a Tbsp or two of coconut oil and 5-10 drops of EO (essential oil) and it worked great. Just be sure to keep an eye on it.
I also have a few little ones that consist of a fan that blows air across a felt pad, onto which I drip however many drops onto. Those work okay in a small, enclosed room.
My most recent acquisition is an awesome diffuser similar to the Zaq Noor. I fill it to the line with tap water, drip in my oil(s), plug it in, and turn it on. It's awesome! It quickly fills the air with a fine mist and the scent I selected and doesn't leave any wet residue on the furniture or floor (both are wood).
AND, right now Spark Naturals has all of their diffusers on sale for 25% off!! See my other post to see what all they have to offer.
Whatever you decide to do on this Valentine's Day, be safe, have fun, and enjoy your loved ones. :)
